Some records belong to the whole family.
The house, the children, a holiday, insurance, tax records and shared plans. Keep the files with the event and the year they belong to, so anyone who needs them can understand the story.
The things we share
- Home · leases and repairs
- Children · school years and milestones
- Travel · plans and memories
The repair receipt should not live only in someone’s memory.
A home repair can bring together quotes, before-and-after photos, the invoice and a warranty. Start by giving those files one home and recording why you chose the contractor.
Organize alone first. Share when you need to.
Local organization and sharing build on the same household story.
On your own computer · Local Family
Keep household files, notes and versions locally. No Cloud account, storage provider or invitation is required.
Across the family · Shared Family
Invite members through Cloud and choose one active family storage provider for each shared Family Space. Each person uses their own account.
Keep the shared version clear.
Both local and external files get an independent family copy of the active version. Source files remain intact. A changed original can become a new family version; it does not silently overwrite what everyone is using.
These shared copies are called Managed Copies. Seeing a filename does not mean the file is ready to open; preparation and unavailable states remain visible.
Know what removing access changes.
Cloud manages membership; your storage service enforces file access. The owner token does not enter Cloud. Cloud access and storage access can be removed at different times. Removing access cannot erase copies already downloaded.
Share family files without passwords

Copies must be moved and checked, and member access prepared before switching together. Self-service family storage migration is a future capability.
